Singer-songwriter Roy Kim is breathing new life into legendary tracks, reinterpreting them with his own unique emotional touch.
Roy Kim will release his remake album ‘Bloom Again’ on May 20 at 6 PM. He is set to bring special emotions to music fans by revisiting long-beloved masterpieces with his signature warm vocals and delicate sensibility.
The album is designed around the concept of “Finding my forgotten romance in a today that has grown numb in the name of being an adult.” Drawing from deep reflections on ‘time’ and ‘growth,’ Roy Kim calmly expresses the emotions felt between a pure past and a realistic present. He connects his past and present self through music to offer sincere comfort and empathy. In particular, he poured his heart into revisiting the moments that feel even more beautiful because they are gone, and the vivid memories of youth that remain because they were so intense.
The album features a total of six tracks: ‘No Encore,’ ‘Twenty-Five, Twenty-One,’ ‘Smile Boy,’ ‘Why,’ ‘Heart for One Person,’ and ‘Song of the Wind.’ Fans are eagerly anticipating how he has reimagined these generation-defining hits from the 1990s to the 2010s in his own style.
Roy Kim has consistently received praise for his covers on his official YouTube channel through content like ‘Cover-hae Bom’ and ‘Miri Bulleo Bom.’ The live clip series released ahead of this album has already sparked an enthusiastic response from fans, proving his deepened emotional range and solid live performance skills.
A key highlight of the album is how he naturally blends his own color while preserving the atmosphere of the original songs. By adding his own interpretation and emotion to each track, he has reborn familiar songs with a fresh vibe. From emotional ballads to bright and cheerful tracks, he showcases a wider musical spectrum than ever before.
Roy Kim shared, “I put a lot of thought into singing to naturally capture my own atmosphere without compromising the sensibility of the original songs. I hope my music can provide a small amount of comfort to those who might be feeling exhausted by the challenges of reality.”
Starting with the release of the remake album on the 20th, Roy Kim plans to keep communicating with fans through various activities, including university festivals and his upcoming fan meeting in July titled ‘The Roy Kim Show: Speaking, Listening, Singing.’
