Shin Bong-sun expressed her frustration over being called an IU lookalike.
On the May 25th episode of Channel A’s “Detective’s Secret,” Defconn, Yoo In-na, Kim Poong, and guest Shin Bong-sun appeared.
When Shin Bong-sun appeared in the “Case Notebook” segment, Defconn introduced her as the “IU of the comedy world,” noting she was like that in her 20s and still is now. Shin Bong-sun was flustered, pointing to Yoo In-na and saying, “IU’s real best friend is right here,” but Kim Poong added that there is an “IU-style” look.
Shin Bong-sun felt wronged, saying, “Some people tell me to stop saying I look like IU, but I’ve rarely even mentioned it myself.” She also revealed that IU once told her, “My fans say I look like you, unnie.”
Yoo In-na commented, “There’s a certain face shape. Heart-shaped, apple-shaped.” When Shin Bong-sun asked if she really looked like IU, Yoo In-na admired her skin, saying, “The elasticity of the skin is exactly the same,” and added, “Skin can’t be like that at this age.” Shin Bong-sun replied, “I was born with some of it. I go to the dermatologist about twice a year.” She added that since many people tell her she’s pretty these days, she wraps herself up and avoids going out on days she doesn’t feel her best.
Sharing her fitness habits, Shin Bong-sun confessed, “I play tennis occasionally. I’ve been swimming for four years as fasted morning cardio. To keep that routine, I’ve been waking up at 6 AM for four years.”
When asked if she has a boyfriend, she lamented, “My plan was to marry at 37. Nothing in the world goes as planned.” Defconn mentioned her past dating rumors with Yoo Min-sang, but Shin Bong-sun clarified, “He just talks freely because it’s someone else’s business. He doesn’t ask for my opinion and just says it’s fine whenever an article comes out.” She strongly denied the rumors, emphasizing they are just “good people” to each other.
Meanwhile, the “Case Notebook” segment revealed a story about a wife suffering because of her passive husband. The wife, who met her husband through a blind date, kissed him during their first meeting. Defconn remarked, “That might be okay when you’re young, but at our age, it’s a bit scary.” Shin Bong-sun added, “It’s cute up until your 30s, but if we do that, it’s misunderstood as ‘they really want to get married.’ Dating in your 40s is harder and requires more caution.”
Shin Bong-sun also shared a funny blind date experience from long ago. “If you’re going on a blind date in winter, there’s a piece of clothing you shouldn’t wear. I wore an angora knit, and I spent the whole time spitting out fur that kept getting into my mouth,” she revealed, admitting the date was a failure.
