Song Il-gook revealed the reality of the “middle school second-year syndrome” hitting the triplets, Daehan, Minkuk, and Manse. He shared a laugh-out-loud update, noting that while his sons used to give him dozens of kisses a day, they now give him the cold shoulder the moment he puts a hand on their shoulders.
During an appearance on MBN’s ‘Kim Ju-ha’s Day & Night’ on the 23rd, actor Song Il-gook gave an update on his three sons.
When Moon Se-yoon asked about the triplets who were loved by the entire nation, Song Il-gook opened up with a sigh, saying, “I have to be very careful.”

Song Il-gook even mentioned that he has to walk on eggshells just to talk about his sons on air. He revealed his “realistic dad mode,” saying, “The kids don’t really like it when people talk about them. So I told them, ‘Dad needs to make a living too. If I don’t talk about you, they won’t invite me to shows.'”
Photos shared during the show caught everyone’s attention as Daehan, Minkuk, and Manse have already grown taller than Song Il-gook. Now in their second year of middle school, the triplets showed off model-like proportions in photos taken at the Grand Canyon in the US.
Song Il-gook revealed their heights: “Daehan is 186cm, Minkuk is 183cm, and Manse is 180cm.” He added that he is 185cm and his wife, a judge, is 172cm, explaining that “the whole family is on the taller side.”
However, more surprising than their growth spurt was the change brought on by puberty.
Recalling the past, Song Il-gook said, “I used to be the type to shower them with affection. I would kiss them a thousand times a day.” He then confessed, “But these days, even that is difficult.”
Specifically, he shared a recent incident where he playfully put his hand on his son’s shoulder, only to be immediately pushed away. Reenacting the moment, he caused a burst of laughter by mimicking his son’s reaction: “He defended himself with his arm and said, ‘Dad, why are you like this?'”
Fortunately, the youngest, Manse, still accepts the affection. Song Il-gook looked slightly comforted as he said, “At least Manse still puts up with it,” adding to the laughter.
Meanwhile, Song Il-gook married judge Jung Seung-yeon in 2008 and has three sons, Daehan, Minkuk, and Manse. The triplets received nationwide love through KBS2’s ‘The Return of Superman’.
