Global pop star SZA has officially reached “successful fan” status after showing her immense love for BTS!
At the 52nd American Music Awards (AMAs) held on the 25th (local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, SZA took home the award for “Best Female R&B Artist,” beating out several top nominees.
One of the most exciting highlights of the night was the meeting between SZA and BTS. BTS made a surprise appearance as presenters for the category. As soon as her name was called, SZA headed to the stage, unable to hide her excitement as she looked at the BTS members before even grabbing her trophy.
Before starting her acceptance speech, the “Kill Bill” singer turned to BTS and expressed her thrill, saying, “I am so happy to officially meet you face-to-face.”
Continuing to look at BTS, she confessed, “I feel like I’m going crazy because I can’t believe this moment is real. I need to engrave this moment in my heart,” leaving fans all over the world smiling. Seeing a top global diva transform into a total “girl fan” in front of BTS became one of the most memorable scenes of the ceremony.
After sharing her overwhelming emotions with BTS, SZA concluded her speech by saying, “I thank my label and God. And I wish God’s blessings upon my precious fans.”
BTS’s legendary status was evident throughout the event. Having completed their military service and returned with their 10th full album, “Arirang,” BTS proved their undeniable presence by winning the top honors of “Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Summer.” Additionally, global girl group Katseye, who won the Rookie award, gave a special shout-out, stating, “Special thanks to BTS for giving us huge inspiration to represent our culture on the world stage,” proving that BTS is truly the “celebrity’s celebrity.”
