Um Tae-goo Opens Up About 'Wild Thing':

The press screening for ‘Wild Thing’ (directed by Son Jae-gon) took place on the 18th at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The following press conference was attended by Director Son Jae-gon and actors Gang Dong-won, Park Ji-hyun, Um Tae-goo, and Oh Jung-se.

‘Wild Thing’ is a comedy film about ‘Triangle’, a three-member co-ed dance group that once dominated the music industry but disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident. Now, 20 years later, they embark on a reckless challenge to seize a chance at a comeback.

Gang Dong-won plays ‘Hyun-woo’, the leader and dance machine of ‘Triangle’, while Park Ji-hyun and Um Tae-goo take on the roles of the group’s vocalist ‘Domi’ and rapper ‘Sang-gu’, respectively. Oh Jung-se stars as the tragic ballad prince ‘Choi Seong-gon’.

Gang Dong-won shared, “The scenario was really fun. I approached it as if I were filming another action movie.” He added, “Since my character was an idol singer from a breakdancing background, I spent a huge amount of time learning breakdancing. That was a special part of the character, and I really wanted to try it.”

Oh Jung-se explained, “The songs were fun, and the character was fresh and cute. Most importantly, I really wanted to work with the director, and I’m grateful he reached out to me.”

Park Ji-hyun revealed, “I used to use the director’s works for my acting auditions. I’ve been a huge fan of his.” She emphasized, “I found the scenario very entertaining. The character of Domi is confident, honest, and has a great sense of humor, which I found very charming.”

Um Tae-goo admitted, “I was scared, but the script was so interesting. Once I saw that Gang Dong-won was cast as Hyun-woo, I decided I wanted to give it a try.”

Meanwhile, ‘Wild Thing’ is set to be released on June 3rd.
