The premiere of SBS’s variety show Pomnyun Road – Monk and Guest aired on the 19th, showing the journey of guests Noh Hong-chul, Lee Sang-yoon, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Ki-taek, and Allday Project Woochan as they headed to India at the invitation of Venerable Pomnyun.
Upon arriving at a hotel in Kolkata, India, the guests were handed room keys that had been booked by Venerable Pomnyun.
During an interview with the production team, Noh Hong-chul recalled, “I was a bit surprised because the Monk is usually very frugal with his own assets, but he seemed to spend the broadcasting station’s money quite freely.” Lee Sang-yoon also added, “I felt good knowing that at least sleep and bathing facilities were provided decently.”
As it turns out, they arrived at 3:50 AM, while the time announced by Venerable Pomnyun was 7:00 AM. With less than four hours left to use the rooms, Noh Hong-chul laughed and joked, “This is just a short-stay!”
