Entertainer Song Eun-i shared the story of how she went from being unemployed to becoming a CEO.
On the afternoon of the 25th, a video titled “Song Eun-i, who became unemployed overnight… How did she become a CEO?” was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Lee Sung-mi’s Mot-ganda’.
In the video, Song Eun-i mentioned the time she suddenly found herself without work, saying, “To be honest, I didn’t think of it as pain or hardship. At the time, I just wondered, ‘Why don’t I have any work?’ I think it’s just my personality, but I never resented God; I was always just curious. I’d be like, ‘Why, God?'”

She added, “I have a bit of a stubborn side. When someone teaches me something, I tend to accept it rather than overthinking it. Fortunately, I had great teachers and seniors in my life. Because there were many people around me I could trust blindly, I don’t think I ever regretted listening to them.”
She continued, “Instead of meditating on the hardship, I think I focused more on gratitude. Strangely, I was like that even when I was unemployed. In fact, I didn’t even realize I’d been unemployed for over a year. I just lived my daily life even without work. Since our line of work has its ups and downs, I thought it was normal. I’d go six months without a call, and then new work would pop up, so I just assumed that’s how it was,” revealing she had been out of work for over a year.

Song Eun-i shared, “I think I started attending church when I was 30. Since then, there was one prayer request I never missed: ‘God, I hope I can have a lifelong career after I turn 40.’ Since the career of an entertainer is very limited, I prayed for anything that would fit.”
She explained that the podcast she started to keep her skills sharp while unemployed grew larger, leading her to believe it was the path God had shown her. When asked if being a CEO is difficult, she shook her head and said, “If I could truly turn back time, I wouldn’t do it. Absolutely not.”

When Lee Sung-mi asked how she actually became a CEO, Song Eun-i replied, “The small broadcasts I started to escape unemployment grew little by little. I could have kept it small and cute, but as more people started gathering, I realized it had to be a company.”
She explained, “Otherwise, people would eventually argue over ‘this is mine’ or ‘that is yours.’ But a company isn’t actually ‘mine.’ I just thought, ‘I need to do company work.’ People talk about 10 billion won and all that, but that’s not all mine. Isn’t it the company’s? Because it’s a company, the owner can change at any time. A company isn’t something I do alone; it’s the members of the organization achieving results together, and I felt that structure was much better.”
Previously, it was revealed that the market value of the Media Lab Siso building, where Song Eun-i serves as CEO, rose from approximately 7 billion won to 15.7 billion won. This earned her the nickname “10 Billion CEO,” to which she mentioned, “It’s not exactly 10 billion, but I just left it because it felt good.”
