Choi Ji-woo has said her final farewells to her beloved father.
The funeral procession for the late Choi Un-yong, father of actress Choi Ji-woo, was held on May 14 at 6 AM at the Haeundae Hospital Funeral Hall in Haeundae-gu, Busan, with family and many acquaintances in attendance.
The late Choi Un-yong passed away on May 11 after a long illness. Choi Ji-woo, listed as a chief mourner alongside her mother, brother, husband, and daughter, greeted mourners amidst deep sorrow.
He will be interred at the Daejeon National Cemetery via Yeongnak Park.
As a former soldier, Choi Ji-woo’s father gained attention for his dedicated volunteer work, providing bathing services for elderly people with dementia.
Choi Ji-woo recently shared on social media that she had traveled to Japan with her mother last month. It is heartbreaking that she suffered the loss of her father so soon after that trip.
Having debuted in 1994 as part of MBC’s 23rd open recruitment for talent, Choi Ji-woo has been active for over 30 years. She married her husband, who is nine years her junior, in 2018 and gave birth to a daughter in May 2020. She recently appeared in the movie ‘Sugar’ released in January and is currently seeking a new agency after leaving Studio Santa Claus.
