Heartbreaking Accident Leaves Son in Vegetative State: Parents' Tears on 'Hanbly'

Today’s episode of JTBC’s ‘Han Moon-chul’s Black Box Review’ (also known as ‘Hanbly’) will shed light on a devastating run-over accident that completely tore a family apart.

Shocking CCTV footage reveals a vehicle turning left at an intersection without a traffic light, slamming into a motorcycle that was traveling straight on a green light.

The driver didn’t stop after the collision, running over the victim and leaving them in an unconscious state, leaving the show’s panels in total shock.

The production team met with the victim’s parents, who shared the heartbreaking details. They revealed that they had even prepared a funeral photo for their son after doctors told them there was less than a 1% chance of him waking up, forcing them to face the agonizing choice between organ donation and stopping life support.

A few days later, a miracle happened as the son began breathing on his own. Although he remains in a vegetative state, his parents burst into tears, saying, “We are just thankful that he is alive.”

Public outrage has erupted following the police investigation, which stated that the incident does not count as a “signal violation” because the accident occurred at an intersection without a traffic light.

The panels were further infuriated to learn that the perpetrator is currently being investigated without detention. They expressed their frustration, asking, “What exactly did the victim do wrong when they were going on their signal?” and “Does this mean it’s okay to just hit people?”

The show will also introduce a new ‘SNS Corner’ where viewers can discuss difficult traffic accident cases. This episode will look into a collision between a vehicle reversing in the end lane and a bicycle entering the lane.

The results of a viewer vote on who is more at fault will be revealed. Expectations are high as the official ‘Hanbly’ SNS saw more heated debates and diverse opinions than ever before.

Additionally, singer Hanhae and comedian Moon Se-yoon will appear as guests. The two will share the story behind the formation of their group ‘Han.Moon.Chul’ (named after the first letters of their names) and perform their new song ‘Airplane’ live for the first time in front of the man who inspired the team name, Lawyer Han Moon-chul. The episode airs May 13 at 8:50 PM.
