Jang Dong-ju Sells His Cultural Space Following Retirement from Acting

After announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry, Jang Dong-ju is now moving to sell the cultural space he personally operated.

On May 16, Jang Dong-ju revealed via his SNS, “I am selling the art center that I have been operating since 2020.”

He described the space as “a place that has added vitality to Sharosu-gil (a street near Seoul National University in Gwanak-gu) through performances by numerous artists.” He further explained that the space is currently operating normally and can be used for performances, rentals, and events, or even as a 24-hour unmanned cafe.

Jang Dong-ju mentioned that he is considering a quick transfer of rights due to his schedule, effectively requesting inquiries from those interested in taking over.

Previously, on May 15, Jang Dong-ju announced via SNS that he would be stepping away from his acting career. He shared, “As of today, I am letting go of my life as actor Jang Dong-ju,” adding, “Although I am leaving the stage, I will not forget the hearts that supported me.”

Last year, he caused concern among fans after disappearing following a sudden message on SNS. During his return, he spoke about the hiatus caused by personal issues and the psychological difficulties he faced. Earlier this year, he also revealed that he had been a victim of phone-related threats and blackmail.

Jang Dong-ju debuted in 2017 with the drama ‘School 2017’ and appeared in ‘Mr. Temporary’, ‘I Will Be Your Night’, and ‘Trigger’. Most recently, he appeared in ‘I’m Human from Today’.
