An update has been shared regarding comedian Lee Jin-ho, who collapsed early last month due to an acute cerebral hemorrhage.
According to broadcasting industry sources on the 14th, Lee Jin-ho, who was treated in the intensive care unit of a university hospital in Seoul, has regained consciousness. He has since been moved to a general ward and is currently focusing on rehabilitation treatment.
A representative brought relief to those around him, stating, “While he is not yet at a perfect level, he is in a state where communication is possible.”
While Lee Jin-ho is battling his illness, his close comedian colleagues have reportedly been providing continuous support.
It is said that comedian Lee Yong-jin was the first among his celebrity acquaintances to visit the hospital, and other close colleagues continue to stay by his side.
Former Super Junior member Kangin played a significant role in ensuring Lee Jin-ho was transported to the hospital within the golden hour. On April 1, Kangin reportedly sensed that something was wrong while on the phone with Lee Jin-ho and immediately called 119. Because Kangin knew Lee Jin-ho’s home address and front door password, he provided decisive help for a rapid rescue.
Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho debuted as an SBS comedian in 2005 and received great love for his role in the “Woong’s Father” corner on “Utchatsa.” He later appeared on variety programs such as JTBC’s “Knowing Bros,” but completely halted his activities in 2024 after admitting to illegal gambling. He was subsequently embroiled in controversy after news of DUI charges and unpaid health insurance premiums came to light.
