MC Mong held his third “exposure” live broadcast on the 20th.
MC Mong called out a TV Chosun PD by name, revealing a text message asking if it was true that he squandered 2 billion won in investment funds on gambling in 2022 and covered the loss with 22 billion won from his agency artists’ performance advances. MC Mong strongly denied this, claiming, “What I find truly unfair is that I didn’t even use a corporate card since the Million Market days. I even sold my copyrights to save the company and ensure my employees got paid. I never missed a single payroll during the Million Market era.”
He continued, “How can someone be like that? How could I gamble with the kids’ performance fees?” He claimed he called Cha Jun-young ten days ago, saying, “Father, I am sorry. Please stop everything. Cha Ga-won is family, and I once called you father. Let’s stop. I just want to be on the same side.” He added, “I’m not a fighting cock. I wanted it to end.” However, he alleged that this recording was sent to MBC and TV Chosun, and the story was twisted to suggest he had reached out to Cha Jun-young to ask for his name to be removed from the gambling allegations.
Previously, MC Mong stated, “People and fans ask if I really have to go this far, but if I don’t, my entire life will be ruined and I’ll have to go into hiding. I don’t want that.” He claimed to have received “precious tips” from an important source, emphasizing that whistleblowers must be protected, but alleged that some criminals and their accomplices are exploiting this, specifically mentioning several PDs from MBC and TV Chosun.
He further claimed, “They try to make me out to be a procurer of prostitution, someone who gets proxy prescriptions for sleeping pills, and a drug offender.” He called for the verification of whistleblowers, stating, “If you don’t verify, you’re not a news agency.” He specifically alleged that MBC PDs Kim Kyung-hee and Park Ga-young went to Las Vegas to cover him and conspired with Cha Jun-young’s close aide at a Chinese restaurant. He claimed this is a violation of the Anti-Graft Act and that they should not be at MBC.
In his first live broadcast, MC Mong caused a stir by claiming the existence of an illegal gambling circle called “Baduki” involving entertainment industry figures, mentioning Kim Min-jong and several other celebrities by name. In response, Kim Min-jong’s side stated that these are “clear falsehoods.”
In his second live broadcast, MC Mong mentioned Kim Min-jong, Cha Jun-young (the uncle of One Hundred’s Chairman Cha Ga-won), and the former agency CEO of Kim Ho-joong. He claimed, “This group is giving large sums of money to women around me, women I don’t even know, and those working in the nightlife industry to find people who will tell them things they know or make up stories about MC Mong.”
He expressed his anger, saying, “The point is ‘I’ll give you as much money as you want.’ This group is going around creating more lies and using money to manufacture ‘facts.’ Please stop, elder. I don’t want to fight this war while you hide your own misdeeds.”
