The wait is almost over! The actor who will step into the iconic role of James Bond in the classic “007” series is expected to be revealed soon.
On the 14th (local time), Amazon MGM Studios announced that they have been holding auditions over the past few weeks to find a successor to Daniel Craig who possesses that “sophisticated and dangerously charming” vibe.
Last year, Amazon MGM Studios acquired half of the shares from Eon Productions, the UK-based production company that owns the “007” intellectual property. Now, Amazon MGM holds full authority over the production of new movies in the series.
Reportedly, the renowned casting director Nina Gold is leading the search. Gold is well-known for her incredible eye for talent across various hits, including the HBO series “Game of Thrones”, the Netflix series “The Crown”, and films like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, “Les Misérables”, “The Martian”, “Conclave”, and “Hamnet”.
According to media reports, actors such as Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have been mentioned as potential candidates for the role.
Adding to the excitement, Denis Villeneuve, the mastermind behind the “Dune” series, “Sicario”, and “Incendies”, is set to direct the 26th James Bond film!
