On the May 11th episode of tvN STORY’s ‘Namgyeoseo Mwohage’, Yoon Jung-soo got candid about his business failures and the financial hardships that followed.
Recalling his peak success in the restaurant industry, Yoon Jung-soo revealed, “I earned about 20 billion won while running four restaurants over two and a half years.” He added that he even purchased an apartment in Cheongdam-dong at the time for around 2 billion won.
However, things took a turn for the worse when he aggressively expanded his business. “I increased the number of stores to 14, but the losses grew twice as fast,” he confessed, adding that he couldn’t even recover the premium or interior costs. In just two to three years, 20 billion won vanished.

Sharing his emotional struggle, he said, “The one or two years before you lose your home are the hardest. You keep making wrong moves because you don’t want to let go. Eventually, the moment the house is gone, you finally admit the failure.”
Yoon Jung-soo also spoke about the extreme poverty he faced after bankruptcy. “It took two years from the auction to bankruptcy, and the struggle lasted for six to seven years,” he explained. He revealed that because all his assets were seized, he couldn’t even access his appearance fees and had to borrow money just to survive.

In a heartbreaking confession, he shared, “On the day I was moving out, I thought about making a bad choice with my mother. But I realized that those left behind suffer for a lifetime. You must never make such a choice.”
Meanwhile, tvN STORY’s ‘Namgyeoseo Mwohage’ airs every Monday at 8 PM.
