Rising star Won Kyu-bin from the actor group NewName is officially joining the cast of the Disney+ original series Moving Season 2!
Moving Season 2 is a human action series that follows superpowered individuals who have returned to their daily lives after the ‘Jeongwon High School incident,’ only to fight once again to protect their loved ones from a new crisis. The first season, released in 2023, became a massive global sensation.
Won Kyu-bin will take over the role of Kim Bong-seok, a character who was deeply loved in Season 1. Bong-seok is a superpowered youth who inherited the ability to fly from his father, Kim Doo-shik (played by Jo In-sung), and superhuman senses from his mother, Lee Mi-hyun (played by Han Hyo-joo). Won Kyu-bin is expected to bring a fresh energy and a soft charm to the new portrayal of Bong-seok.
Won Kyu-bin previously caught the eyes of global viewers as Lee Sa-rang in his debut work, Cheongdam International High School Season 2, where he was praised for his natural portrayal of a sweet and devoted character. His momentum continues with the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Going to Work Tomorrow!, premiering June 22, where he will showcase a different side of himself as the mysterious college student Lee Jae-in.
Won Kyu-bin is a member of the actor group NewName, which consists of Kim Jun, Kim Tae-young, Woo Hyun-jun, and Won Kyu-bin. The group garnered attention even before their debut through fashion pictorials and an official invitation to Paris Fashion Week. The other members are also staying busy; Kim Tae-young appeared in MBC’s Your Radiant Season and SBS’s Awakening, while Woo Hyun-jun joined KBS2’s Last Summer. With Won Kyu-bin now joining Moving Season 2, the group is drawing significant industry attention.
Won Kyu-bin previously made waves appearing on the web variety show Hong Seok-cheon’s Jewelry Box in 2023. Since Lee Jung-ha, who played Bong-seok in Season 1, enlisted in the Marine Corps this past January, Won Kyu-bin will step in as the new Bong-seok for Season 2.
Moving Season 2 will be available for streaming on Disney+.
