Actor Lee Jong-hyuk shared some exciting updates about his eldest son, Tak-soo, who is officially making his debut as an actor!

On the May 3 episode of JTBC’s ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014’, Go Soo and Lee Jong-hyuk joined the show as guests.

During the episode, Lee Jong-hyuk was more eager to promote his son’s play than his own. He proudly shared, “Tak-soo passed an audition, so he took a leave of absence from school. I’m so happy! He’s debuting in Daehak-ro as one of the students in ‘Dead Poets Society’.”

Lee Jong-hyuk also revealed that Tak-soo is currently balancing work and his dreams. “Since he’s on leave, he has some free time before rehearsals start. He’s working at a coffee shop during the day and a restaurant in the evening,” he explained.

Showing a very realistic fatherly side, Lee Jong-hyuk added, “He has to earn money, right? Why would he just play around?” When asked if he provides an allowance, he joked that he only gives “travel expenses,” which left the cast in stitches. When the hosts teased him by asking if Tak-soo was doing “paid events” like a star, Lee Jong-hyuk quickly corrected them, clarifying he meant “transportation costs.”

Lee Jong-hyuk married his non-celebrity wife in 2002 and has two sons, Lee Tak-soo and Lee Jun-soo. The eldest, Lee Tak-soo (23), is studying at Dongguk University’s Department of Theater and Film, while the younger son, Lee Jun-soo, has just started as a freshman in the Department of Theater at Chung-Ang University’s School of Performing Arts for Film and Television. It looks like both sons are determined to follow in their father’s footsteps as actors!
