Park Ji-hoon Shines in 'The Legendary Army Cook' with Realistic Acting! Is This His New Best Role?

Park Ji-hoon is capturing viewers’ hearts in ‘The Legendary Army Cook’ with his incredibly natural and sly acting!

In the second episode of the TVING original series ‘The Legendary Army Cook’ aired on the 12th, Park Ji-hoon delivered a dense portrayal of Kang Seong-jae’s emotions. His witty delivery and realistic performance added so much charm to the character, making the show even more immersive.

Previously, Kang Seong-jae hit a major roadblock in his military life when Lt. Col. Baek Chun-ik (played by Jung Woong-in) collapsed after eating his sea urchin seaweed soup, leading to Kang being dragged away by military police. However, it was revealed that the collapse was caused by a perilla powder allergy, not a cooking mistake or poison. In a surprising twist, Lt. Col. Baek actually praised the soup, saying he “saw heaven.”

Through a conversation with a counselor, Kang Seong-jae reminded himself of his late father’s teachings. Encouraged by this, he showed a strong will to remain a cook, even after Captain Hwang Seok-ho (played by Lee Sang-yi) suggested a change in his position.

Kang Seong-jae also showed his growth as a cook by using a “status window system” to fix the smell of old rice with vinegar and winning over the unit with a spicy bean sprout soup. Sergeant Yoon Dong-hyun (played by Lee Hong-nae) also opened his heart to Kang’s sincerity, creating a heartwarming bond.

But the drama isn’t over yet! Captain Hwang still wanted to change Kang’s position. To persuade him, Kang Seong-jae carefully fried up some pork cutlets, but he failed the quest, and his status window system disappeared! Fans are now anxious to see if Kang Seong-jae can overcome this crisis and continue his journey as a legendary cook.

‘The Legendary Army Cook’ airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM on TVING and tvN.
