Singer and producer Rhymaster has opened up about his honest feelings following his divorce, including his thoughts on remarriage.
On May 20, a video titled “Did you call your hyung for this? I rejected all divorce talk shows” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Hyungsoo is K.Will’. Rhymaster appeared as a guest to have a heart-to-heart conversation with his close friend, singer K.Will.
During the episode, Rhymaster maintained a “cool” vibe regarding his divorce. He joked to K.Will, “Shortly after the divorce news broke, people started trying to recruit me for shows. Aren’t they crazy?” However, he also shared a more serious side, saying, “I feel sorry for the people who attended my wedding.”
In response, K.Will confessed, “Now that I’m in my mid-40s, I sometimes think I should have gone through a divorce once.” Rhymaster replied, “I think there are pros and cons. While I believe no experience is truly bad, there are some things you don’t necessarily need to experience.”
Rhymaster expressed deep regret toward his family, stating, “I felt especially sorry to my family. I believe marriage isn’t just about two people, but about two families coming together to create a new one.”
Despite the pain, he didn’t hide his hope for a new beginning. “On the other hand, I’m dreaming of a new love. I want to meet a good person and start a family again,” he revealed. He added, “Having gone through that experience, I think the upside is that I now have a better eye for what’s truly important and what to look for in a partner to live with.”
Rhymaster married former journalist and broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo in 2017, but the couple announced their divorce in 2023 after six years of marriage.
