Actor Um Tae-goo shared some details about the exposure scenes in ‘Wild Thing’.
A press conference for the movie ‘Wild Thing’, set to release on June 3, was held on the 18th at Lotte Cinema World Tower Cine Park. Actors Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, Park Ji-hyun, Oh Jung-se, and Director Son Jae-gon were in attendance.
‘Wild Thing’ is a comedy about ‘Triangle’, a co-ed dance trio that once dominated the music scene but disbanded overnight due to an unexpected incident. Now, 20 years later, they embark on a reckless challenge to seize a chance at a comeback. Um Tae-goo delivers a passionate performance as Gu Sang-gu, Triangle’s “storm rapper” whose passion is unmatched despite his terrible rapping skills.
During the event, Um Tae-goo expressed his gratitude, saying, “As for the rapping, I worked hard following the guidance of my teacher. The wigs and costume makeup also helped bring the character to life.”
Known as one of the industry’s most introverted personalities, Um Tae-goo shows a massive transformation in ‘Wild Thing’. Explaining his decision to join the project, he said, “I was scared, but the script was so interesting. I also had a great experience meeting the director. Most of all, since senior Gang Dong-won was cast as Hyun-woo, I really wanted to work with him.”
In ‘Wild Thing’, various pictorials and album covers of Gu Sang-gu (played by Um Tae-goo) appear. Some of these photos feature a lot of exposure, which caused quite a stir. Um Tae-goo shyly explained, “The heavy exposure is CG.” He added, “Basically, the original shots existed, but the sensitive parts are all CG. It wasn’t all my body.”
You can catch Um Tae-goo’s passionate performance in ‘Wild Thing’ in theaters starting June 3.
